Description

 

            The Touchstone Technology POS-176 keyboard encoder is designed to support any keyswitch matrix with up to 176 switches.  The POS-176 is highly flexible, enabling a  wide variety of different keyswitch arrays to be interfaced to standard PCs. The efficient design of the POS-176 allows it to be used as a low cost solution to virtually every conceivable keyboard interface problem.

 

            Additional POS-176 units can be daisy-chained to allow an unlimited amount of keyswitches.  With its flexible design the POS-176 can accept input from a PS-2 keyboard and convert it into a USB data stream.  Each key can be programmed to support multiple keystrokes, creating macros to simplify PC usage.  The POS-176 can also be inserted between standard keyboards and a PC allowing key-translation.
